The Road to Taekwondo
Training
Training under the tutorage of Grandmaster Kim Jee Sook at Kyung-hee dae Taekwondo. Master Matthew Sleight gained great love and respect for the art of Taekwondo. Although an older student, he strived to become the best he could be. Working hard while working to support his family and through many physical trials, Master Matthew Sleight achieved his goal of becoming a Taekwondo master.
Volunteer
Master Matthew Sleight Volunteers his free time during the Poom and Dan promotion tests in the Gangseo-gu District Area. Working alongside other likeminded Masters, Master Matthew Sleight Helps with the smooth running of the area tests and acts as a referee during the sparing sections of the promotion tests. He also uses these skills as a guest referee during the regional Taekwondo competitions.
Advancing
Master Matthew sleight attends the annual Master courses at both Kukkiwon Headquarters and at the courses provided by the WTF (World Taekwondo Federation). Meeting new masters and honing his skills, Mater Matthew Sleight find there is always room to improve and learn something new at these events. Strengthening the links he has and making new friends in the international taekwondo community.
The Honor
Master Matthew Sleight is well known in Korea for promoting both Taekwondo and many local charities. A teacher and a famous actor, he has used his connections, time and hard work to help many people. In thanks for all his work the Korean Government awarded Master Matthew Sleight the Honorary Citizen of Seoul award in 2011. A member of the Seoul Honorary Council, Master Sleight continues to help forge better links between the international community and Korea.
